Here are a few (or more!) pictures of our little bundle of joy, Cohen Jacob Lee. He was born March 15th weighing 7 lbs 2 oz and 21 inches. We are so amazed at how entertaining a little baby, who really doesn't do a whole lot, can be.

Belated Announcement

Most everyone knows by now but I feel bad I never made a big announcement. I mean this is about the coolest news I have ever been able to share. So if you see this and already know, just pretend it is new news and be happy with me all over again!

We are having a baby! We are really excited, sometimes still in shock, but loving the idea of it (so far). Not loving being sick though:)

A Jam Packed Week of Fun

First bonfire of the season, breakfast with the hiking gals, Supercross in the snow, no more Young Women's (although I will miss them terribly), dinner with Jake, dinner with old roommates, lunch with my cousins, Health Days 10k Race, and dinner with the book club!!!
Thanks to all, this made turning 30 a heck of a lot more bearable!

Our TV died a few weeks ago and this is our new sweet setup in the living room. What do you think? I am feeling like we don't really need to get a new TV or move the old big black one out... this looks great! (Insert HEAVY sarcasm) Notice the power button is missing off the TV, a pencil or a pinky finger is required to turn on or off.

Retaing Wall

Jake worked very hard to build a retaining wall in the backyard. I was a really big help. I glued the bricks together. I hoped to do something a bit more substantial but the cinder blocks were REALLY heavy. Don't worry, I already know I am a pansy.

One night we were saying good-bye to some of our friends that had come over for dinner and Jake was standing next to the wreath on the front door and he said to me, "Is this supposed to be here?" I thought he was just talking about the wreath since he is always commenting on how dumb decorations are. But he was actually looking at a little nest with eggs in it! Who knows how long is has been there, but I guess the mom didn't like the location because she has never come back:(

Night Hike to the Wind Caves

I have been really wanting to do a night hike lately, day hiking just wasn't cutting for me. I had no idea anyone would be as crazy as me so I was totally shocked when my friend Melanie called and invited me to hike up to the Wind Caves with her and her sister. We left around 9:00 pm and got back home close to midnight. It was a full moon and the perfect temperature. We had a blast, well at least I did!

South East Asia

Isn't it really strange when something you have been looking forward to for almost a year comes and goes and you think, "what the heck, how is that over already?!". Well that is how I feel about my trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. I had such a great time. I met some awesome people and saw some really amazing things.
After spending so much time around all the poor and humble people in these countries I can't help but think how blessed I am to live where I do. Heavenly Father really does know our limitations and knew I wouldn't do too well in a place like that.
Even though I loved it and can't wait for my next trip (no I don't have one planned) I am so happy to be home.

Hello to anyone checking this. I wish I had a way of uploading some pictures, but at the moment I don't, sorry. I am having a great (HOT) time. I have been eating pretty much non-stop and will probably roll off the plane when I get home.
Mindy, I am loving my pillow case! Oh and FYI, Annie and I haven't even made it through one of our "Pound Plus" bars!!! Aren't you amazed? That is restraint.
Gina, I am using my little notebook almost every day for notes and my jounal, it has been perfect.
And Jenni I have been using the sarong you brought back from Costa Rica for me as my blanket on planes, trains and automobiles!
Hope everyone is well back home. I am sad I missed my favorite holiday the 4th of July. You all better have celebrated extra hard for me. XOXO from Vietnam.

I have been wanting to post something for a while now, but couldn't think of anything. I mean really, who cares about wrecked cars anyway? So I decided to do a shout out for a great author. Last month my book club read the book "Driving Sideways" by Jess Riley. It was a fantastic book. Anyway, our book club has a blog and Ms Riley found our post about her book and made a comment! Cool huh? I thought she was great before but after seeing that I almost think she could walk on water. It gets even better. At our book club meeting last night, Mindy (my sister-in-law) brought us all signed bookplates from the author. Now my book has an autograph, yeah! I just had to share because I love reading and authors are really amazing to me. How do they write so much and do it so well? I can barely write on my blog and I absolutely hate reading my own journal. Oh well, I guess that is why I clean teeth.

It is back and it is beautiful. (And a day early!)

I'm falling in love all over again. I got home from work and Jake had picked up the car from Preston's. I had to take her for a little drive to get reacquainted and it was fantastic.

Would You Believe, Twice in One Week!

I know the following story it just too bizarre to believe, but it really did happen.

I was SO excited to go to Delta and St. George for spring break. I couldn't wait to eat mush at my grandparents and spend time in the warm Southern Utah weather. After Jake's car accident 1 1/2 weeks ago I thought I might not be able to go since we were down to one car but he got a rental and off I went Thursday evening after work. I got as far as the Beck Street exit in Salt Lake when traffic came to a sudden halt due to rush hour and the far left lane closing. I stopped and so did the jeep behind me (although she was awful close) but to my great disappointment the Xterra behind her did not stop and plowed the jeep right up my car's... backside. I was horrified as I looked in the rear view mirror and saw my trunk standing straight up in the air. I just kept thinking, "please let my suitcase be intact, I don't want my underwear all over the freeway!". Luckily just the handle was broken, no panties in the road. The police came and after hours of reports and people examining my car, making sure it was okay to drive back to Logan, I bought some duct tape and bungee cords (since I couldn't for the life of me get the trunk to stay down) and bandaged the Accord back together and headed home. (Becca, I know that is a run-on sentence, but I don't care) I had a few tears in my eyes, mostly because I LOVE that car and she didn't deserve to be smashed like that in front of all those gawkers.
So, now we have one rental car until my car is fixed (hopefully by the 24th). The garage seems so empty. If everyone could pray that Jake will find a replacement vehicle in less than 6 months I would appreciate it.

The Tragic End to a Legacy

Death Notice

Shortly after her birth in 1989 in a far away country the Integra found it's way to the wonderful US of A. Most of her early history is unknown but in 2000 a young returned missionary fell in love with her and knew they would be together for a long time. He took her home and they had many great adventures together. Tragically their time together was cut short when she was side swiped by a driver who failed to yield at an intersection late Friday afternoon. Although there were numerous emergency vehicles who responded to the accident the Integra was beyond saving. Many bystanders had to cover their eyes as she was proclaimed "totaled" and towed away from the accident scene. Luckily no one else was hurt, which is to be expected of the Integra, as she was always a self sacrificing vehicle.
No formal viewing will be held, but if you would like to pay your respects the vehicle will be held at Preston's Autobody parking lot until the accident reports are finalized.
Thank you for all the great memories Integra, we will miss you!

While I was visiting my parents I told my dad I would go on a bike ride with him one morning up to Tuacan. He went and got me some bike shorts from his room that had the bum pad sewn in. I went to put them on and seriously had the hardest time pulling them up over my fat butt! I writhed and wriggled until the mushroom of fat jiggled down into the shorts. What the heck. When I finally did get them on, my belly was dripping over the waist band and I was afraid when I sat on the bike I was going to rip the butt out. When did this happen? Not just the whole fat thing, but being bigger than my dad! UUUGGHHH. My mom has been smaller than me since I was in second grade, but my dad? You'd think this would send me straight back to weight watchers but no, I still eat like at any moment someone is going to take away all the food left on the planet. Why?

Every since I first looked out the back window of my parents new home in Santa Clara I have said I was going to climb to the top of the Red Mountain. It stares back at me every visit (for the past 7 or so years) saying, "Ha ha, you haven't even attempted me yet!" So on my most recent visit I was thrilled to hear my friend Stephanie tell me she knew where to go and better yet she would go with me. Ya-Hoo!!! We actually did pretty good on time, but holy crap it was a beast. I can't praise Stephanie enough. I don't know too many girls who have just had a baby and are willing to attempt something so vigorous. We both fell a few times (I have a nice black bruise on my left cheek) but enjoyed the beautiful weather and amazing scenary.

My Little Hat (or maybe, My Big Head...)

My sister-in-law Kate makes really great crocheted hats and I thought I should give it a go. It actually didn't turn out too bad, just a little small. It might fit a doll or small baby, or my bear JP. Actually, I think he looks quite nice in it!
